This in-person workshop was taught by our very experienced sensei, Lauren Toth (who BTW, was presented today with her Level 9, Assistant Professor of Floral Art, Third Grade, by past-president, Linnéa Storm).
Lauren started her study of Ikenobo in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2004 and transferred to the Phoenix Chapter in 2006. She is conducting workshops on a regular basis now in Sun City. We were glad she took some time out of her busy schedule to do today’s presentation.
For this workshop, Lauren gave participants a challenge to use at least one dried material and at least one stem of eucalyptus in their freestyle arrangements. Many of the arrangers chose to use the pieces of dried palm tree trimmings which Lauren brought to class. These, plus, the eucalyptus and a central focal point of bright colored flowers produced some very creative arrangements. Please check out the photos.
