We had the privilege of studying Rikka Shofutai in a members-only class with Chizuko Goto Sensei. As the most classical and formal style of ikebana, Rikka Shofutai expresses the beauty of nature as a complete landscape within a single arrangement.

Chizuko Goto Sensei emphasized the importance of structure, with carefully arranged yakueda (main elements) working together to create harmony, balance, and depth. Each element plays a defined role, contributing to a composition that reflects both discipline and the natural world.

Through her guidance, students gained a deeper appreciation for the precision and intention required to bring this traditional form to life.
