March 1st, 2025 Shoka Sanshuike Workshop with Lauren Toth
Shoka Shofutai
Lauren Toth, Assistant Professor, Kakan, and also our current chapter president, taught shoka sanshuike, an arrangement using three materials. Lauren chose ranunculus flowers in peach and pink hues and paired these with ti Leaves in corresponding shades. For the third material, she opted for eucalyptus. Lauren explained that the arrangement reflects the expression intended by the arranger while still adhering to the basics of shoka shofutai; therefore, the container also plays a crucial role in the overall design, enhancing the visual balance and harmony. All the arrangements showcased at the workshop highlighted the versatility of shoka sanshuike. Thank you, Lauren, for your guidance and inspiration.
