December 8th, 2024 Rose Garden workshop with Lauren Toth
Picture this: a sun-kissed day, a gentle breeze, and a sea of vibrant roses stretching out before you. That’s exactly what we experienced at the Mesa Community College Rose Garden. It was a delight!
Our guide, Leroy Brady, the garden’s landscape architect, led us on a captivating tour through this rose-filled wonderland. With over nine thousand rose bushes, it was like stepping into a painter’s dream. Leroy shared fascinating stories about the garden’s history, from its early days to its current splendor.
As we strolled through the garden, the air was filled with the sweet scent of roses. We had fun cutting blooms to create our arrangements. With such a dazzling array of colors and varieties, choosing the perfect roses was a delightful challenge.
After our garden tour, we headed to the Mesa Community Library for a special treat. Rosarian Lauren Toth sensei shared her expertise in a lecture. She demonstrated how to create beautiful jiyuka (free-style) arrangements, inspiring us to unleash our own creativity.
We had a blast creating our own floral masterpieces, and we hope you enjoy the photos of our rose-filled day. We can’t wait to share another floral adventure with you soon!
