February 7th 2026, Jiyuka – Michele Nguyen
We had the honor of learning from Michele Sensei how to create a two-vase Jiyuka, a free-style arrangement. Michele Sensei encouraged a mindful approach, inviting us to think of the materials as members of a community. While each element is unique and expressive in its own way, harmony must exist not only within each vase but also between the two arrangements.
Through this perspective, the two vases were seen as being in quiet dialogue with one another—independent yet connected, distinct yet unified. The result was a balanced composition that celebrated both individuality and relationship, embodying the essence of Jiyuka’s creative freedom.
Certificates were also presented in recognition of advancement: Wanda LaLoggia received Level 11, and Sumie Obata received Level 3, Roxie Griego, and Linda Fraser received Level 1 and Level 2 certificates.
